public art

I thought this art piece downtown was really nice because most people only think downtown is only about casinos and night life. But it actually has other things that are intresting perhaps like going all around downtown and finding some really fun art to look at. I enjoy going downtown and just walking around finding all this good art around the downtown area.

Visual conventions

John Taylor and howling wolf they have two different views to the treaty signing at medicine creek lodge. The work Taylor does is more representational to me because of the way he puts things together. While the work wolf does is more abstract because he really doesn't describe what's going on in the painting he is more focused on the native Americans and the there culture and what they look like how women are more involved in the treaty signing. And taylors is more focused on the men and the signing of the treaty he's more about the men have all the power and that the women just stand back and watch what's going on with out getting involved. Both of these artist have different opinions and different forms of painting that's what makes there work so important because they each have there own points of view.

Frederic Edwin Church

The painting I choose was from the book A world of art. On page 487 fig 666 its called The Heart To The Andes. I think this painting represents role number 4 because it looks like theres more about the painting. That we dont see ourselfs. Theres more beyond to what we see in the painting I really do think role number 4 really relates to this painting because theres some hidden truths about this painting because I really think this represents role 4 this painting has some spiritual forces this deffiently has all that role 4 is about. When I was looking throught the book this was the painting that stood out the most because it was what to me represented role 4. About the artist his name is Frederic Edwin Church he was born in Hartford Connecticuit he was son of a wealthy man . When he was sixteen he started to study drawing and painting because he liked it so much and because he had the money to study it. His first oil painting he sold to Harthford Wadsworth Atheneum.

Chester Arnold, Road To Paradise

Chester Arnold's painting Road To Paradise made me think of the things we are destroying in order to get to

what we think we want. All the beautiful things we are givimg up to get the things we think are paradise for

us. Like the beautiful things we use to love w are giving up and destroying them in order to get our way and

what we want giving all the things we grew up with all those good old fashion things. That brought so much

happiness to them gets in our way. to what we think is paradise giving up reading, playing outside in a swing.

We are giving up all the good things that tought us so much good. we are losing and giving them up while

destroying all the values those things had to use as small children. People are destroying all theses beautiful

things to get to there paradise while forgetting what joy and pleasure these things brought us when we use to

have them in mind.

I saw two sides to this panting. And the second was that the Road To Paradise meant all the struggle's you

had to go trought just to get to your paradise all the road blocks that were put in your way just to see if you

would sucessed and get to your road to paradise. To see if the obsticles that where put in your way would

remind you of the hard work you had to go trought to see if you would go trough it and put the things back in

place in order to find that paradise putting everything where it was meant to be and thats how you would find

your way to your Road To Paradise

Chester Arnold's painting Road To Paradise had two different meanings to mean. I thought this painting was

beautiful and that its amazing how you can get such an imagination on this painting its great Chester Arnold

really gave me a new perspective on art work.
